States and localities are raising their minimum wages in 2024. The new minimum wages come into effect on January 1, 2024, unless otherwise noted. The wages below do not apply to tipped employees.

California Minimum Wage
- $16.00 per hour
California Cities Minimum Wage
- Cupertino: $17.75 per hour
- Los Altos: $17.75 per hour
- Oakland: $16.50 per hour
- Palo Alto: $17.80 per hour
- San Diego: $16.85 per hour
- San Jose: $17.55 per hour
- Santa Clara: $17.75 per hour
- Sonoma:
- Under 26 employees: $17.60 per hour
- Over 26 employees: $16.56 per hour
- South San Francisco: $17.25 per hour
- West Hollywood: $19.08 per hour effective on June 30, 2024
Connecticut Minimum Wage
- $15.69 per hour
Florida Minimum Wage
- $13.00 per hour (effective June 30,2024)
Illinois Minimum Wage
- $14.00 per hour
New Jersey Minimum Wage
- $15.13 per hour
New York Minimum Wage
- New York City, Nassau, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties minimum wage will be $16.00 per hour
- Everywhere else in the state will increase to $15.00 per hour.
- Effective January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in New York City, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties will increase to $16.50 per hour.
- Effective January 1, 2025, the minimum wage in the rest of New York State will increase to $15.50 per hour.
- Effective January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in New York City, Suffolk, and Westchester Counties will increase to $17.00 per hour.
- Effective January 1, 2026, the minimum wage in the rest of New York State will increase to $16.00 per hour.
