Vaccine Mandates Lifted by NYC Mayor

September 20, 2022

Earlier today, New York City Mayor Eric Adams announced that the City will be lifting its private sector COVID-19 vaccine mandate, effective November 1, 2022. This mandate was originally implemented by former Mayor Bill de Blasio and required all private sector employees located in the City to be vaccinated against COVID-19. An individual organization now has discretion whether to maintain a vaccine requirement for its employees.

Mayor Adams also announced that the vaccine requirements for New York City public school students who participate in sports and other high risk extracurricular activities have been lifted, effective immediately.
