State Minimum Wage Increases Effective January 1, 2012

Eight states have increased their minimum wage rates effective January 1, 2012. The new minimum wage rates are as follows:

  • Florida – $7.67 per hour ($4.65 per hour for tipped employees
  • Oregon – $8.80 per hour
  • Montana – $7.65 per hour
  • Arizona – $7.65 per hour ($4.65 per hour for tipped employees)
  • Ohio – $7.70 per hour ($3.85 per hour for tipped employees), for employers grossing $283,000 in business per year
  • Colorado – $7.64 per hour ($4.62 per hour for tipped employees)
  • Washington – $9.04 per hour
  • Vermont – $8.46 per hour ($4.10 per hour for tipped employees).
