Eight states have increased their minimum wage rates effective January 1, 2012. The new minimum wage rates are as follows:
- Florida – $7.67 per hour ($4.65 per hour for tipped employees
- Oregon – $8.80 per hour
- Montana – $7.65 per hour
- Arizona – $7.65 per hour ($4.65 per hour for tipped employees)
- Ohio – $7.70 per hour ($3.85 per hour for tipped employees), for employers grossing $283,000 in business per year
- Colorado – $7.64 per hour ($4.62 per hour for tipped employees)
- Washington – $9.04 per hour
- Vermont – $8.46 per hour ($4.10 per hour for tipped employees).
