NYS Electronic Posting of Employment Posters

May 13, 2022

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, more and more employees are working from home, and are entering their physical workplaces less frequently, if at all. The New York State legislature recently passed a bill that would require employers to make all mandatory workplace compliance postings available in electronic format for their employees. This bill has not yet been signed by Governor Kathy Hochul but would become effective immediately once signed.

New York employers are currently required to post certain state and federal notices, in a conspicuous place in the workplace, for all employees to see. If this bill is signed by the Governor, employers will be required to provide digital versions of these mandatory notices, either through email or on their website. Employers will also be required to notify their employees that these notices are available electronically.

We will continue to monitor developments regarding these requirements. If you need assistance drafting a notice to employees or updating your Employee Handbooks to reflect these changes, please reach out to us.
