Housekeepers, Nannies, Caregivers and Other Domestic Workers
We counsel clients who hire and maintain household staff and other domestic workers on key issues relating to compliance. This includes minimum wage, overtime, recordkeeping, insurance coverages and the New York State Domestic Workers Bill of Rights.
Most individuals require assistance in navigating the complicated rules of hiring and paying household staff. We assist clients in preparing employment letters or agreements that formalize working hours, describe duties and responsibilities and provide required time off. In addition, we explain the appropriate records that need to be maintained and guide clients in dealing with salary and separation issues.
